On Kagugube Road, opposite Makerere University Hospital, you'll find a place where the aroma of cardamom and coconut rice fills the air. Furaha Restaurant & Lounge has been Kampala's home for authentic Swahili cuisine since 2019 — bringing the coastal flavors of Zanzibar, Mombasa, and Lamu to the heart of Uganda.
Every dish tells a story. Our recipes carry the warmth of Swahili hospitality — slow-cooked pilau with hand-ground spices, fresh seafood in rich coconut curry, and the kind of biryani that makes you close your eyes after the first bite.
